My daughter has just had a bad experience whilst moving with a firm that advertises on Facebook, trading under the name of 'Moveitman Removals' in Rotherham, South yorkshire. Being young and naive she thought the price as reasonable so booked the removal date. To cut to the chase, an item went missing which she realised she had placed on top of a TV while taking her kids to her mum's car. The item, a Kindle eBook reader did not turn up at her new house with her other goods. The firm basically just dumped her furniture etc. on her front garden and left, it was then that she realised her device was missing so contacted the firm, telling them they had lost an item of her's, but they were just dismissive and abusive, telling her they made 300 pounds a day and did she think they had stolen it. Alarm bells rang when the people who she was exchanging homes with, informed her that they heard one of the two man team say something to the effect of 'shall we come back later and clear the place out' The new occupants were not moving in right away so the house would be locked up with their goods inside. My daughter rang the police who visited the firm who just denied they had even seen the Kindle. She was offered no contract to sign by the firm or invoice/receipt, estimate etc. I sincerely doubt the 'firm' is insured so my daughter really has learned a hard lesson and is missing a gift that she'd only had a few days.
